Fuji Massage associate has court hearing

A former associate of the leader of a Grand Junction massage parlor that is being investigated for prostitution waived her right Tuesday to have a preliminary hearing within 30 days.

Suk Young Yu, 52, who is out on a $10,000 bond, was advised Tuesday morning in court on a single charge of pimping.

Yu’s attorney, J.Y. Yang, said in court that he hadn’t yet received the 100,000 pages of discovery in the case from prosecutors and he would need time to review the documents.

Yu, who is cooperating with authorities, was arrested after 58-year-old Nan O’Reilly was taken into custody on allegations that she allowed prostitution at her business, Fuji Oriental Massage, 762 Horizon Drive.

Law enforcement launched an 11-month investigation into the massage parlor under the Colorado Organized-Crime Control Act.

Yu returns to court for a review hearing March 17.
