Fund set up for family of man killed in confrontation
A woman whose husband was shot and killed during a confrontation with police Sunday has established a memorial fund.
Nancy Ingram on Thursday said she’s trying to raise $1,400, which will pay for funeral services and cremation for 39-year-old Brent Ingram.
Ingram’s body is currently in the possession of a local funeral home, she said.
She said contributions for the benefit of the family of Brent Ingram can be made at any local American National Bank branch.
Brent Ingram was shot twice in the chest after authorities say he brandished a knife at two Grand Junction police officers inside a room at Timbers Motel, 1810 North Ave.
Nancy Ingram has said her husband had been drinking heavily over a three-day period leading up to the incident.
The couple, along with their two sons, Trent, 13, and Zane, 10, checked into the North Avenue motel roughly two weeks prior to Sunday’s shooting.
The incident remains under investigation. The officers involved are on administrative leave, per department policy.
