Game 5: Bottom half of lineup spurs Iowa Western to victory

Iowa Western Community College’s six through nine hitters were 5 for 11 with four runs scored to lead the Reivers to a 4-1 victory over Spartanburg Methodist (S.C.) College in an Alpine Bank Junior College World Series elimination game at Suplizio Field.

The Reivers’ Brandon Tierney was hit by a pitch in three consecutive at-bats and scored one run. Iseha Conklin was 2 for 3 with one RBI and one run scored in the nine hole.

Andy Roberts allowed one unearned run on six hits and stuck out seven in 6 1/3 innings for the victory.
