GJ on Accident Alert due to adverse road conditions

Icy bridges and multiple traffic crashes tonight has prompted Grand Junction to issue an Accident Alert until further notice because of adverse road conditions, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.

An Accident Alert means motorists in non-injury crashes should do the following: get vehicles off the road to a safe location if possible; exchange license, insurance, and registration information; and come to the Police Department, 555 Ute Ave., during business hours to file an accident report within 48 hours of the incident.

The Police Department will respond to crashes where a driver is suspected of being intoxicated, an injury is involved, a tow truck is needed or the incident is a hit and run.
