Granard, Petersen earn All-America honors

PUEBLO - Colorado Mesa University wrestlers Chester Granard and Nick Petersen placed in the NCAA Division II national tournament at Massari Arena to earn All-America honors.

Granard took eighth place at 165 pounds after losing to Minnesota State-Mankato’s Cody Quinn 3-2 in the seventh-place match.

Petersen placed seventh at 184 pounds. He defeated Wisconsin-Parkside’s Matt Gille 3-1 in overtime in the seventh-place match.

Granard and Petersen are Mesa’s first All-America wrestlers since Chase Walker placed fifth in 2009.
