Grand Junction Defense Stifles Rocky Mountain
No. 8 Grand Junction defeated Rocky Mountain 42-14 on Friday at Stocker Stadium.
Tigers running back Austin Lewis rushed for 184 yards on 19 carries and had two touchdown on the ground, one of which went for 78 yards.
Also for the Tigers (3-0), quarterback Tyler Heinsma had touchdown runs of 60 and 46 yards.
For the Tigers defense—James Diamanti had four sacks. Grand Junction’s first team defense did not give up a touchdown – Heinsma threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown in the first quarter and Rocky Mountain’s (0-2) other score came on Grand Junction’s second-team defense.
