Grayson County’s Abel Baker drafted by Angels

Three more players that participated in the Alpine Bank Junior College World Series were selected Tuesday in the Major League Baseball draft.

Grayson County (Texas) College catcher Abel Baker was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the seventh round. Although Baker’s team was eliminated in two games in the JUCO World Series, Baker hit two home runs and made the all-tournament team.

Central Arizona College left-handed relief pitcher Eric Wooten was taken by the Baltimore Orioles in the 15th round.

The Red Sox drafted Grayson County left-handed pitcher Zach Good in the 20th round.

Central Arizona’s Keenyn Walker was the first player from the 2011 JUCO World Series selected. He was chosen in the Compensatory A Round by the Chicago White Sox with the 47th overall pick.

The draft continues today with rounds 31-50.
