Guilty plea after body found on Broomfield street

BOULDER — A Broomfield man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder charges after a body was found in a Broomfield street in August.

Authorities say Matthew Burnett killed James Fernandez after an argument in Burnett’s home.

Burnett told police he dragged his friend into the street, hoping a passing car might stop and help.

The Boulder Daily Camera reports Burnett told police he became angry after he found his wife in a compromising position with Fernandez and attacked him.
