Heart attack killed driver, caused I-70 rollover

A “previously undiagnosed medical condition” caused a California man to lose control of his truck Thursday night on Interstate 70 before it rolled into the center median, according to the Mesa County Coroner’s Office.

R. Bruce Love, 71, of Santa Barbara, Calif., died from sudden cardiac arrest, the coroner’s office said.

Love was wearing a shoulder and lap belt and did not suffer traumatic injuries in the crash.

Authorities were called around 7:50 p.m. Thursday on a reported single-vehicle rollover crash between mile markers 28 and 29 on I-70.

Love was driving to Boulder for a family gathering, officials said. He was traveling alone.
