Heavy snowfall for north and eastern Colorado

DENVER — The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for northern and eastern Colorado.

Forecasters say there could be a lot of snow and blowing snow in the northern mountains on Thursday, and heavy snowfall for the Front Range and Eastern Plains.

Up to 14 inches of more snow is expected in the mountains, with up to a foot of snow on the Front Range and foothills overnight.

The Colorado Department of Transportation says eastbound Interstate-70 at Vail and both directions over Loveland Pass are shut down because of adverse weather.
