I-70B closing delayed until at least Wednesday night

A closure of I-70B at 29 Road previously scheduled for this evening has been delayed because traffic through the mountains is limited today.

Trucks carrying large girders for the current overpass project were not able to make it to Grand Junction today, but officials are hoping they arrive tomorrow. That will mean a section of I-70B will likely be closed tomorrow night, and traffic will be rerouted around the construction area at 29 Road while crews place concrete girders over I-70B for the new overpass.

The detour will use North Avenue and 28 Road for both east and westbound traffic. The construction and detour will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will continue until 6:30 a.m.
