Icy roads close top of Rim Rock Drive

The top portion of Rim Rock Drive in Colorado National Monument will be closed because of snow and icy roads, according to park officials.

The road is closed between the DS Junction to the Independence Monument overlook.

Those traveling to Glade Park should use the monument’s east entrance. Those traveling to the visitor center should use the monument’s west entrance.

All areas of Rim Rock Drive are snowy and icy, according to the monument’s snow line.

Anyone wishing to visit the monument should call 858-3617 ex. 402 for road conditions.
