International airport terminal weighed in Eagle

EAGLE — Colorado officials are studying the possibility of adding an international terminal at the Eagle County Regional Airport in Gypsum.

The Vail Daily reported Sunday that county officials are waiting on a report due out before the end of the year that analyzes whether an international terminal is economically sustainable.

County Commissioner Peter Runyon says the upgrades necessary for an international terminal would have been too expensive just three years ago but the cost is now within reach.

Vail Valley Jet Center President Paul Gordon says Vail is becoming an international destination and officials want to promote the local economy with international travel service.
