Investigators: Alcohol involved in boat accident

FORT COLLINS — Investigators say most of the passengers on a boat that ran over and injured a 22-year-old man in Horsetooth Reservoir would have been too drunk to drive.

The Larimer County Sheriff’s Office says the boat’s driver, 22-year-old Christopher Joseph Feller of Fort Collins, told investigators he drank two “tall boy” beers before he accidentally ran over Anthony Olmsted on June 30, breaking his hip and foot and causing deep cuts to the right side of his body.

The sheriff’s office affidavit says all of the passengers, including four minors, had been drinking that day, and that Feller was driving to shore when Olmsted jumped out and was cut by the propeller.

The Coloradoan reports (http://noconow.co/14vfNdx ) Feller was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of boating under the influence and felony vehicular assault.
