It’s time: Ski season kicks off Saturday
The 2011-2012 ski season gets an early start Saturday when Wolf Creek Ski Resort opens its lifts to skiers and boarders.
According to Colorado Ski Country USA, the resort atop Wolf Creek Pass in southwest Colorado recently received 36 inches of new snow, enough to open three lifts.
The resort said this is its earliest opening ever, beating the previous mark of Oct. 26 in 2007.
Lift tickets will be $33 for adults, $19 for children (6-12 years) and seniors (65 and over).
Three other Colorado resorts – Copper, A-Basin and Loveland – currently are making snow in anticipation of early openings.
