Landlords want to keep Little Annie’s open
ASPEN — The landlords of one of Aspen’s most affordable restaurants are trying to keep it operating.
The state plans to auction off the contents of Little Annie’s Eating House Tuesday to recoup about $44,000 in back taxes. Father-and-son business partners, Andy and Nikos Hecht, tell the Aspen Daily News they plan to make a bid in hopes of taking over the restaurant. If they succeed, they would invest $50,000 in it and let the restaurant’s employees run the business.
After a renovation, the Hechts are considering bringing in the owner of another restaurant in town to operate it.
Little Annie’s current owner could stop the auction if he pays the taxes in time. However, the landlords say he hasn’t paid them rent in four months.
