Larimer County funds High Park Fire work
FORT COLLINS — Larimer County commissioners have allocated $70,000 over two years to help restoration work and mitigation in the area of last year’s High Park Fire west of Fort Collins.
The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports that officials also plan to reduce the impact of post-fire flooding in the area. The money will go to the newly formed Coalition for the Poudre River Watershed, a nonprofit.
The wildfire last year burned more than 136 square miles, killing one person and destroying nearly 260 homes.
