Library director chosen

The former director of the Red Rocks Community College Library in Lakewood has been selected as the new director for Mesa County Libraries.
Joseph Sanchez served as library and learning resources director at Red Rocks Community College from 2006 to 2011. In that post, he managed an urban academic library that had a diverse patron base, including public patrons. Since then, he has led a team of employees responsible for multimedia content production at Auraria Library in Denver.
The current director, Eve Tallman, will retire in August.
Sanchez holds a master’s degree in library and information science from San Jose State University and a bachelor’s degree in history from California State University San Marcos. He is a nationally recognized leader on ebooks, e-content, technology and intellectual property in public libraries.
