Local organizations accepting donations for fire victims

Salvation Army, 1235 N. Fourth St.; Red Cross, 506 Gunnison Ave.; and IntelliTec College, 772 Horizon Drive, are accepting donations for victims of Colorado wildfires.

Financial donations are welcome at each of the three locations. IntelliTec is accepting supplies as well, including blankets, sheets, pillows, air mattresses, Gatorade and other sports drinks, disposable aluminum pans, heavy-duty and industrial aluminum foil, new batteries, paper cups and plates, trash cans and trash bags, and new underwear and socks.

The local Emergency Operation team also is coordinating a donation center with the local Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters group. Community members can drop off donations of non-perishable goods between noon and 5 p.m. today at Adventist Community Services Center, 2554 Patterson Road.

Call 244-8200 or Colorado 211 for more information about where and how to donate. Visit HelpColoradoNow.org for information about statewide donations.
