Man facing arson charges in apartment fire

COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs police have charged a man with arson after the man said he started a fire in his apartment to chase away demons.

Police said Jerad Cronin told them he had to start cardboard on fire on Sunday. Police say Cronin threatened officers with a small shovel and then jumped through a plate glass window in his bedroom. He was arrested after a short chase.

Cronin was treated at a local hospital for cuts and taken to jail.
