Man guilty of sexual assault gets three years in prison
A man who sexually assaulted a Grand Junction teenager was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison and must register for 10 years as a sex offender.
Armando Aldama-Torres, 25, picked up a teenage girl in his vehicle while she was walking near Grand Junction High School and later assaulted her at his home.
Aldama-Torres pleaded guilty previously to a felony charge of sex assault on a child.
Police learned of the assault after the girl escaped the home and reported it to a counselor.
