Man retreats to bedroom after bear break-in

COLORADO SPRINGS — A Colorado Springs man was forced to retreat to his bedroom after a bear broke into his kitchen.

Griffin Smith says he was walking to his kitchen Monday morning when he saw the bear in his kitchen. He ran to his bedroom and called police.

Division of Wildlife officers searched the home, but did not find any sign of the bear.

According to KRDO-TV, the bear tore up part of a beehive that was left outside and rummaged through trash cans before leaving.
