Man suspected of hitting police car arrested

A 33-year-old Grand Junction man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of side-swiping a police car Wednesday in a PT Cruiser, the Grand Junction Police Department said tonight.

Karl Carothers was arrested on suspicion of attempted second-degree assault, vehicular eluding, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident after a tip this morning led officers to the car parked in the 800 block of Elm Avenue.

His arrest affidavit was not made available.
