Mavericks defend RMAC title

Led by 25 points from point guard Christen Lopez, Colorado Mesa’s women’s basketball team claimed a 73-55 victory over Black Hills State tonight at Brownson Arena in the RMAC Shootout championship game.

Lopez, the tournament’s most valuable player, also had five assists and four steals for CMU, 28-1, which received an automatic bid to the NCAA South Central Region tournament. Sharaya Selsor had 19 points and was also on the all-tournament team, along with Aubry Boehme, who finished with 15 points.

The NCAA will announce the national tournament field at 8 p.m. Sunday on its website, ncaa.com.
