Mavs’ Bingaman, Robbins tie for fifth at RMAC golf championships
Brandon Bingaman and Sean Robbins tied for fifth place to lead the Colorado Mesa men’s golf team to a tie for third place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships on Tuesday at the Golf Club at Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz.
Bingaman had his best round in Tuesday’s final round, shooting a 1-under-par 71 to finish with a two-over-par 218. Robbins carded a 75 on the final round to finish with 218. Both players were selected to the RMAC all-tournament team.
Kevin White of the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs won the individual title with a six-under 210. Teammate Eddie DeLashmutt was second with 214. They led the Mountain Lions to the team title with a score of 869. Colorado Mines took second with 886. Mesa tied with Colorado Christian for third with 899.
The Mavericks’ Kyle Roll tied for 26th (231), Adam Griffith tied for 39th (236) and Christopher Aiken was 44th (244).
Michelle Stipp trimmed seven strokes off her first-round score in her second round and finished ninth in the RMAC Championships at the Golf Club at Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz.
The lone Colorado Mesa senior shot 77 on Tuesday to go with her 84 on Monday. She scored a two-round total of 161 to lead the Mavericks to a fifth-place finish (686).
Mesa freshman Zoe Woodworth had a rough second round, carding an 86 to finish 11th with 162. Torrie Sauer tied for 27th with 182, Rachel Cavalier was 31st with 184 and Audrey Meyer was 33rd with 190 for the Mavs.
Western New Mexico’s Arrianna Estrada won the individual title with a 1-over-par 145. Nicole Hulbert of Regis was second with 151 and Hee-Leima Kim of CSU-Pueblo placed third with 152.
Western New Mexico won the team title with 614. CSU-Pueblo was second (638), Regis was third (657) and Adams State was fourth (681).
Colorado Mesa hosts an NCAA Super Regional on May 5–7 at Tiara Rado Golf Course.
