Mavs hold steady at No. 4

The top six teams in the USA Today/WBCA Division II women’s basketball poll remained the same today, with Colorado Mesa still No. 4.

After wins against Metro State and Regis last weekend, the Mavericks improved to 17-0, 13-0 in the RMAC. Ashland (Ohio) University (21-0) remained No. 1, receiving all 31 first-place votes, followed by Bentley (Mass.) and Clayton State (Ga.). All four top-ranked teams are undefeated.

CSU-Pueblo received three votes, the only other conference team mentioned in the weekly poll.

In the men’s NABC poll, Metro State is still No. 1, with Fort Lewis No. 14 and Adams State falling to No. 23 after losing to Colorado Christian last week. Colorado Mesa, after losing to Metro State but beating Regis, received eight votes, down from 12 last week.

Mesa plays at Colorado School of Mines on Friday night and at Colorado Christian on Saturday night.
