McInnis back on Colo. campaign trail

ALAMOSA — GOP gubernatorial hopeful Scott McInnis is back on the campaign trail.

The former congressman is set to speak to the Farm Bureau in Alamosa today. On Saturday, McInnis held a fundraiser in Silt that drew 300 people.

McInnis missed a campaign event last week, saying he wanted to avoid a spectacle over the $300,000 he received for plagiarized essays about water rights.

McInnis offered to repay the money after The Hasan Family Foundation board said it wanted its money back, noting that McInnis has admitted some of the work wasn’t his own.
