Meeker freshman Shelton in finals, Henderson loses semifinal match

T.J. Shelton, a freshman at Meeker High School, will wrestle for the Class 2A 160-pound state title tomorrow night. He defeated Eads senior Taylor Weirich. Shelton’s teammate, J.C. Henderson, lost his semifinal match to Seth Harrington of Sedgwick County/Fleming.

With the loss, Henderson, a junior, now moves to the 132-pound consolation bracket with the opportunity to finish as high as third place. Colorado State Wrestling Championships continue through Saturday evening in Denver at the Pepsi Center.
