Mesa County fire services study meetings start today
The first of four public meetings pertaining to a local fire services study will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Fruita Civic Center, 325 E. Aspen Ave.
The study will track how fire services operate in Mesa County and suggest improvements to service. The Mesa County Fire Chief’s Association is working with Matrix Consulting to create the study. All but one of 11 Mesa County fire departments will participate.
Public meetings are scheduled to introduce information about the study. Today’s meeting will focus on goals of the study and how fire services currently operate in Mesa County. A meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. July 24 downstairs at Palisade Veterans Memorial Community Center, 120 W. Eighth St., will present future fire service projections. Another meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 21 at Clifton Fire Station, 3254 F Road, will share possibilities for shared fire services in the area. A final meeting sometime in September will offer a final presentation of study results.
