Mesa softball wins RMAC tournament opener

Colorado Mesa shut out top seed Colorado School of Mines to win its RMAC tournament opener Thursday afternoon in Golden.

Ashley Pulido pitched a complete-game, limiting Mines to four hits in Mesa’s 4-0 victory.

The No. 8 seed Mavericks (25-20) play No. 5 Nebraska-Kearney at 10 a.m. today in the winners’ bracket. The RMAC tournament champion receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Division II Central Region tournament next weekend.
