Missing hiker found dead in national park in Utah

CANYONLANDS NATIONAL PARK, Utah — A 73-year-old missing hiker from Missouri has been found dead in Canyonlands National Park in Utah.

Wayne County sheriff’s deputies say the man had been hiking alone and his body was found in Horseshoe Canyon on Saturday.

The man was supposed to have been out of the canyon by July 28 and was reported missing Friday.

Investigators say they’re unsure how long the man had been dead, and that his cause of death will be determined by the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office.
