Montrose lands in 4A title game

Angelo Youngren scored on a 1-yard touchdown run in double overtime this afternoon, then ran in a 2-point conversion to lead Montrose High School past Pueblo South 39-38 to reach the Class 4A championship game.

The Indians scored in the first overtime, but Pueblo South tied it, then the Colts scored on fourth down in the second overtime and kicked the extra point.

Montrose, the top seed in Class 4A, plays Pine Creek in the championship game at 11 a.m. next Saturday at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver.
