Montrose sheriff names person of interest in deaths investigation; IDs victims

Ryan Craig Peterson



The Montrose County Sheriff’s Department announced the name of the young man sought for questioning in connection to the discovery of two bodies found Monday.

The sheriff is seeking the whereabouts of Ryan Craig Peterson, 19, for questioning. Police believe Peterson is still in the Montrose area, and is described as a white male, 5’ 6” tall, 135 lbs., green eyes, and short brown hair.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Peterson is asked to call the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office at 252-4020 or 249-6606.

The Montrose County Coroner also released the identities of the two people found dead Monday: Scott Michael Clarke, 34, of Montrose, and Kama Ellouise Sanburg, 49, also of Montrose, were discovered at 16378 60.30 Road west of Montrose. The deaths are currently under investigation
