Moore steps down as Palisade High baseball coach

Palisade High School announced today Steve Moore decided to step down as the school’s varsity baseball coach.

Moore was the Bulldogs’ head coach for seven years and was an assistant for six years. During his head coaching tenure, Palisade won the 4A Western Slope League championship four times, and Moore was named the league’s coach of the year each of the past two seasons.

Palisade Athletic Director Mike Krueger said in a news release, “Steve will certainly be missed by the Palisade coaching family.  ... For me personally, including the time Coach Moore served as my assistant coach for those six years, he has been and will continue to be an esteemed colleague, confidant, and great friend.”

Krueger added the posting and process for hiring a new baseball coach will begin right away.
