More crews to help fight Colo. foothills wildfire

CONIFER — A wildfire burning in the foothills southwest of Denver that has forced dozens of evacuations didn’t grow much overnight despite strong winds.

The fire remained at about 40 acres today and is 20 percent contained.

More crews are expected to arrive to help fight the fire. Authorities are concerned about the chance of the fire spreading since winds are expected to gust up to 50 mph.

Residents remain evacuated because of that risk.
