National parks considering Internet experiment
ESTES PARK — People visiting national parks who are trying to get away from it all may have to find another campground.
The National Park Service is launching a pilot project to provide Internet services to campers, which could expand if the experiment is successful.
For now, visitors to Rocky Mountain National Park have to go to visitor centers if they want to go online, and cellphone service is spotty.
According to the Boulder Daily Camera, Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the crown jewels of the national park system, is not on the list of up to a dozen parks on the list for the experiment, but other Colorado national parks, including Mesa Verde in the southwest part of the state, may not be out of the woods yet.
