Officer involved shooting in Fountain

FOUNTAIN — Fountain police and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an officer-involved shooting.

Fountain police say officers responded to reports of a traffic crash and shots being fired on Monday. They found a man with a gun to his head as a woman ran from the car.

Fountain police say multiple shots were fired when they tried to negotiate with the man, and the man was struck in the chest and hand. None of the officers were injured.

According to KOAA-TV, the unidentified man was taken to Memorial Hospital, where his condition was not available.
