Oil tanker crash near Golden leaves 5 injured
GOLDEN — Five people have been injured after a semi-tractor trailer hauling asphalt oil collided with several other vehicles, sending two of them into Clear Creek.
Authorities say the semi collided with a Jeep early Wednesday and at least one other vehicle hit the tanker, which rolled over. Two vehicles ended up on frozen ice on the river.
According to KMGH-TV, the tanker has been leaking oil into the river which hardened as it hit the ice.
Hazardous material crews are working to clean up the oil spill.
