Olathe baseball qualifies for state

The Olathe High School baseball team picked up where it left off Saturday, defeating Jefferson Academy 16-4 in the Class 3A District 2 final at Kent Denver High School.

The Pirates (13-8) led 2-0 in the first inning Saturday when the game was postponed by rain. When play resumed today, Olathe added four more runs for a 6-0 lead and never looked back.

This is the second consecutive season, Olathe qualified for the Class 3A state baseball series.
