One dead in crash north of Grand Junction

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle crash this afternoon in the desert north of Grand Junction which killed one person and injured two others.

Trooper Nate Reid said the agency was notified of the crash around 1:11 p.m., roughly a mile-and-a-half north of where the pavement ends on 27 1/4 Road. The two injured parties were transported by ambulance to a hospital, Reid said. Additional details weren’t immediately available.

Initial 911 reports from the scene indicated an adult male was unconscious and not breathing after a pickup truck had rolled.
