Limited traffic allowed through Glenwood Canyon again

One lane of traffic in each direction on Interstate 70 is now open, according to officials with the Colorado Department of Transportation.

There is a 14-foot width restriction in effect for vehicles traveling the interstate through the canyon. A 40 mph speed limit is instated in the area.

Starting early this morning crews were working to clear enough rocks from the roadway caused by blasting.

Crews have been working since Monday when large boulders fell onto the roadway and damaged the bridge in Glenwood Canyon.

CDOT officials could not estimate when repairs would be finished and all traffic would be allowed back onto the road.
