RSSUPDATE: Orchard Avenue line break fixed
A waterline break at 2834 Orchard Ave. has been repaired and the portion of the street between 28 1/4 and 28 1/2 roads will re-open by 4:30 p.m.
ORIGINAL STORY:
A waterline break at 2834 Orchard Ave. has closed Orchard Avenue between 28 1/4 and 28 1/2 roads for the day and affected 12 residences, according to a press release from the city of Grand Junction.
City pipeline maintenance crews will be working to repair the 10-inch waterline throughout the day, according to the press release. The line is beneath concrete. Workers will have to cut the concrete to access the broken pipe. City Pipeline Maintenance Supervisor Ron Key estimated in the press release it may take until 7 p.m. or later tonight to complete repairs.
