Oregon man involved in Divide Road accident died of multiple injuries

A man who was flung from a vehicle on Divide Road when it flipped end-to-end suffered multiple injuries and died as the result of an accident, the Mesa County Coroner’s Office said.

James R. Schaefer, 74, of Portland, Ore., was on his way to a family camping trip when the accident occurred.

The coroner’s examination was inconclusive as to whether Schaefer was wearing a seat belt, the coroner’s office said.
