Palisade football drops six spots in media poll
Palisade dropped to No. 8 in the Denver Post Class 3A Media Poll after its loss to Battle Mountain last weekend.
The Bulldogs (5-1) were ranked second for three consecutive weeks. This is the lowest Palisade has been ranked since the preseason poll when it was ranked eighth. Palisade hosts Eagle Valley at 7 p.m. Thursday at Stocker Stadium.
Rifle (6-0) moved up four spots to No. 6 and Battle Mountain (5-1) is ranked for the first time this season at No. 9. Vista Ridge remains No. 1 in the 3A poll.
Grand Junction gained two more first-place votes and 14 more points in the Class 5A poll. The Tigers (6-0) play Montrose (6-0), ranked sixth in the Class 4A poll, at 7 p.m. Friday at Stocker Stadium.
Valor Christian (6-0) is No. 1 again in the 4A poll. The Eagles have held the top spot all season.
Olathe (3-3) dropped out of the Class 2A top 10 for the second time this season after an overtime loss to Roaring Fork. Aspen moved up one spot to sixth. Brush is No. 1.
Hotchkiss (6-0) remains No. 2 in the Class 1A poll behind Burlington (6-0).
