Grand Valley native named GM at Powderhorn Resort

Daren Cole, a fourth-generation Coloradan with roots in the Grand Valley, has been named general manager for Powderhorn Resort.
Cole has more than 18 years experience in the Colorado ski industry, including stints at Vail and Durango Mountain resorts. Most recently, he was vice-president of sales and marketing at Crested Butte Mountain Resort.
During his tenure at Crested Butte, the resort won the 2010 National Ski Areas Association’s Best Overall Marketing and Guest Service awards.
Cole graduated Colorado State University with with a degree in commercial recreation and tourism with an emphasis in marketing and sales.
“Daren is a natural fit for Powderhorn,” said Powderhorn co-owner Andy Daly. “With our knowledge of resort operations and his knowledge of boosting the image and sales of Colorado mountain resorts, Powderhorn is sure to have new-found success.”
Cole will begin his new duties Oct. 24.
