Palisade plays Friday night in 3A playoffs

The Palisade Bulldogs will play their second-round Class 3A playoff game Friday night at Stocker Stadium at 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs (10-1) will face seventh-seeded The Classical Academy (9-2), which defeated No. 10 Conifer 14-12 on Saturday.
Playing without injured senior Dalton Hannigan, who sprained his ankle in practice, the Bulldogs subdued a feisty Lutheran team 35-25 on Saturday to advance to the quarterfinals.
Three of the four Western Slope Conference teams in the playoffs won on Saturday with Rifle, the 11th seed, losing to sixth-seeded Coronado 34-31.
Two WSC teams that won on Saturday, Glenwood Springs (8-3) and Delta (8-3), will face one another this Saturday in the second round.
Delta, the 13th seed, defeated No. 4 Holy Family in a 42-41 overtime thriller. The game was decided when Holy Family missed its extra point. Glenwood, the 12th seed, defeated fifth-seeded Elizabeth 14-13. The game will be in Glenwood Springs with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
Both teams won on the road in the first round but Glenwood will host the game since it’s the higher seed.
The rest of the bracket has ninth-seeded and defending champion Silver Creek (8-2), a 47-14 winner over Evergreen, playing Pueblo East (7-4), the 16 seed that defeated No. 1 Discovery Canyon 47-13. No. 3 Roosevelt (8-2) routed Frederick 47-13 and will face Coronado (10-1) in the other quarterfinal game.
In Class 4A, top-seeded Montrose (10-1) will get a second straight home game on Saturday.
The Indians defeated Montbello 31-25 and will face Denver South (9-2), the eight seed, which beat Durango 36-26.
Saturday’s winner will advance to the semifinals to face the winner of 13th-seeded Dakota Ridge (8-3) and fifth-seeded Pueblo South (10-1).
No. 3 Pine Creek (9-2) plays No. 6 Windsor (9-2), and seventh-seeded Loveland (9-1) will face No. 2 Monarch (9-1) in the other 4A quarterfinal game.
The Class 1A playoffs are in the semifinals and the top four seeds are all still in it. Fourth-seeded Paonia (10-1) will travel to Buena Vista (11-0) to face the top-seeded Demons on Saturday. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
Second-seeded Limon (11-0) will played No. 3 Centauri (10-1).
Paonia’s lone loss this season came to Centauri, a 27-14 defeat in week three.
The final Western Slope team still playing for a state title is Norwood, which will be playing in the 8-man semifinals on Saturday.
Norwood (10-1), the third seed,  will travel to second-seeded Dayspring Christian Academy (11-0) out of Greeley. No. 1 Hoehne (11-0) will host fifth-seeded Caliche (10-1) on Saturday.
Norwood’s lone loss this season was a 44-40 setback to Hoehne.
