Police: Beating posted on YouTube led to arrests

GREELEY — Greeley police say a video posted on YouTube showing a jogger being assaulted two weeks ago has led officers to arrest some of the people suspected of being involved.

Police say a woman jogging at a city park was trying to stop two girls who were fighting while others egged them on. Police say that’s when a 17-year-old girl began attacking the jogger.

Authorities say the video shows an adult woman encouraging the teenager to beat the jogger. The jogger suffered bruises and cuts to her face and head.

The Greeley Tribune reports that police arrested five juvenile girls and two adult women, including 22-year-old Chantel Gallegos. She is free on $10,000 bail and faces charges of engaging a riot and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
