Police looking for man with dementia

Grand Junction police announced early this evening they’re looking for an 83-year-old Grand Junction man who has dementia and took his and his wife’s vehicle.

Police spokeswoman Kate Porras said Norman Griffin and his wife were at Bed Bath and Beyond on U.S. Highway 6&50 at about 3:30 p.m. when the wife discovered he had taken their car and left the area. Griffin has dementia and shouldn’t be driving.

The vehicle is a maroon and gray Chevrolet Suburban with Colorado license plate 845HDR.

Griffin is a white male, 5-foot-10, 210 pounds, and bald. He was wearing a tan plaid shirt and tan pants. Anyone who has seen Griffin or the Suburban is asked to call 911.
