Police: Driver sought in hit-and-run crash
Grand Junction police are looking for the driver of a truck believed to be involved in Sunday’s early-morning crash that left a Clifton woman with critical injuries.
Amber Davidovich, 32, was at the corner of Ninth and Main streets around 2:30 a.m., when witnesses said she tried to flag down a driver in a dark-colored, Dodge Dakota, which was headed east on Main, police said this morning. Shortly after, witnesses heard the vehicle leave and Davidovich was lying on the ground.
Davidovich was in critical condition as of noon today at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Davidovich, an employee of The Daily Sentinel for just over nine years, is the mother of two young children.
Anyone with information about the driver’s identity is asked to call 242-6707, or Mesa County Crime Stoppers, 241-STOP. Tips can also be sent online, http://www.241stop.com.
