Police: Woman robbed store to help her baby

A woman who robbed a local convenience store cried while pointing a gun at the clerk, saying she needed the money for her 11-month-old child, according to an arrest affidavit.

Brittany Dawn Hailey, 23, was arrested on Christmas Eve on suspicion of robbing the C&F Food Store, 3199 Mesa Ave., on Saturday night, according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.

Hailey was identified as a suspect in the armed robbery from still video shots taken from inside the store during the incident, the Sheriff’s Office said in the affidavit.
